Oh my goodness this weather is insane! Why does it have to go to such dramatic extremes? Most our day is being spent in the house. When we are outside we are playing in the water. Elm Creek Park Reserve has a small filtered beach. Last night the water felt like a nice 80 degree pee bath. Today we may opt for the library. I just hope this weather settles soon so we can go to the park and enjoy being outside. :)

Today is the first day of summer vacation. HOLY MOLEY! These kids are nuts! I have determined our house is just too small. Cramming 8 kids, 2 adults, and a 75lb rottweiler in 1 room you barely have room to walk. I have learned to love the very simplest pleasures like the birds chirping and complete silence. The toddlers and baby are napping and the big girls are watching a movie. Roman has the 2 big boys and the dog- out running errands. I am compiling a list of activities that we can do with out having to drive. Any ideas? coming up with stuff for the younger girls is easy, it is the big boys ( ages 8 and 6) that is a little more difficult. Our vacation is in 7 days! YAY! I am so excited to relax. We are going to be staying in the mountains in Wyoming for 4 days. The other 3 days will be spent traveling to and from. We plan to see Devils tower in South Dakota, go to the hot springs in Wyoming, hike the mountains, and just be together.
Our graduation party yesterday was so much fun!I still feel the excitement of the last day of school. We had pizza, a pinata, diplomas, and supper yummy cake that I made. :)
To a summer filled with fun!

I have a few minutes. We have been outside since 7:30am. We love this weather! The kids are playing, well, where playing nicely. There is very little time that passes where we don't have some sort of conflict. Whether it be because someone stole a toy, or took their spot, or counted wrong. I am a referee 24/7. Being a childcare provider is one of the toughest jobs out there. You have to be on all the time. If you are off your game they will eat you alive. When everyone is happy and there is laughter and hugs this is the best job in the world. Though those day are few and far between. With problems at home to missing parents these kids have a lot deal with. Which makes my job that much more important. And exhausting. As a mom of 4 which includes my 10 year old step daughter my life is filled with many needing people and lots of chores. I love being a mom, but in the midst of being a mom I have lost myself. The things I need and want are always on hold. I guess that is just what happens. Right? my goal is to work on patience and tolerance as this summer brings many battles.
